About
What is it?

A cleaning will start with checking for signs of gum disease and for excess plaque and tartar. Using a scaler, we’ll scrape plaque and tartar removing all the build-up from your teeth. A high-powered electric toothbrush and a gritty paste are used to give a truly deep clean. Once the teeth are polished we will do a deep floss, getting between teeth to remove particles that may lead to gum disease. Finally, you’ll rinse your mouth with a solution that contains liquid fluoride.

For optimum oral hygiene, a professional tooth cleaning is strongly recommended every 6 to 12 months. Good oral hygiene starts at home with daily brushing and flossing. Attention to this at home is going to prevent the build-up of tartar and plaque which can only be removed by a dentist. But you need a professional to deep clean and check the gums for signs of disease. We agree, at a minimum, once a year you should visit us for a good cleaning.

Our Advanced Technology

Oral health is important, one way to remain healthy is to have a professional cleaning, where your mouth can be checked for signs of disease and decay. Advance cleaning techniques give you the best chance at optimum oral health.

It shouldn’t. If your teeth are sensitive it may be s sign of disease, tell your dentist. You may hear grinding sounds, smell some things but, it is a painless procedure.
Once your gums have been deep cleaned, particles and plaque removed, your gums will start to heal themselves and re-form a tight seal around your teeth. This should take 6 to 8 weeks.
No. It’s a myth that enamel can be scraped away during a cleaning. It may feel like teeth are being damaged but we know what we’re doing and we will not damage your teeth. They may be a little sensitive too hot and cold after a cleaning.
You can certainly prevent plaque build-up by brushing twice a day but, plaque can only be fully removed by a dentist. Professional tools are needed to get it off and not cause damage to the teeth.

Our Advanced Technology

With advanced technology, we are now capable of doing laser fillings where less of the tooth is removed and the filling is smaller. This allows more of the tooth to remain which maintains strength for a longer time.

Gold fillings are durable and completely safe. Gold is one of the most bio-compatible metals that can be used on people. They are more expensive.
Composite fillings. They are popular due to their price and for the fact that they look very natural.
Ceramic fillings are excellent. They look completely natural and are exceptionally durable.
Yes. resin or glass ionomer fillings are used most often on primary teeth, for children’s teeth. Because they tend to be very delicate and endure a lot of wear and tear.
About
model of a tooth crown
What is it?

A crown is a cap or a cover that placed over your existing tooth or part of your existing tooth to give it strength and improve the appearance of a tooth that may be damaged or decayed. We make sure your crown looks as natural as possible and feels comfortable in your daily life. There are many options for materials that we are happy to discuss with you. It may take two visits to create the permanent crown, with laser impressions and fittings.

Do you need it?

Crowns are a multipurpose option when it comes to your smile. A crown can be used for a cracked or chipped tooth, a weak tooth that needs to be held together, to restore a tooth that is already broken or worn down. Or, a crown can be used to hold a bridge in place. Cosmetically, a crown can cover a misshaped tooth or one that is severely discolored. One of the major uses of a crown is to be the top of a dental implant.

A crown will give good support to a tooth damaged by decay.
If a tooth is worn away or starting to wear, a crown will offer protection against further decay.
If the tooth is severely cracked or broken, a crown will hold the tooth together, preventing more destruction.
A crown can improve the appearance of a tooth by changing its shape or even the color of the tooth.
About
What is it?

A dental bridge will, quite literally, bridge the gap where a tooth or teeth are missing. Using the teeth on either side of the gap we anchor a pontic, a false tooth, in the opening bridging the gap.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

When a tooth or teeth are missing the jawline can look aged, your bite can be affected and your smile can look off. Teeth can become crooked moving toward the gap and decay can result from teeth shifting.

If you’re having trouble chewing properly or speaking clearly, that may be the result of missing teeth and a bridge will help. If you’re shy about your smile due to missing teeth a bridge will help that as well.

Our Advanced Technology

Missing teeth can cause the face to sag, the lips to flatten, look thin and lead to decay and pain. A bridge is a treatment option to fill in gaps and avoid further problems with your teeth and gums.

Gaps from missing teeth can make you self conscious about your smile. Lose the gap, take your smile back and regain confidence with a bridge.
Missing teeth can change the shape of your face, add age. Jowls can form, your lips can thin and flatten. A bridge prevents all of that.
Teeth can drift toward the gaps left by missing teeth, making your smile less attractive. A bridge keeps your teeth where they should be.
When teeth are missing the force of your bite can be unevenly distributed. A bridge fills in gaps and allows the bite force to cover all the teeth in an even fashion.
About
What is it?

An opening is made through the crown for the tooth into the pulp chamber. The root or the pulp is removed and the chamber, as well as both root canals, are cleaned, shaped and made ready for filling. Medication may be placed in the pulp chamber to heal infection then the entire thing is sealed up. A temporary crown is placed to prevent infection and later, a permanent crown is sealed over the tooth. You may receive antibiotics if the infection has spread.

Do you need it?

Root canal addresses disease or injury to the dental pulp. Pulp is the soft tissue inside the tooth that contains blood vessels and nerves. When the pulp is diseased or damaged it needs attention. This can occur if you have a cracked or damaged tooth, a deep cavity or a large filling. Bacteria may enter the pulp and cause inflammation or disease. If you have any pain or sensitivity to heat or cooling, problems biting or chewing, you may need a root canal.

Our Advanced Technology

With modern advances one of the greatest fears about root canal can be dispelled, a root canal is not painful. With our current advances in anesthetics, the level of discomfort is no greater than having a filling placed.

There is no validated scientific evidence that root canal causes you to contract a disease in other parts of the body.
We always advocate keeping your natural tooth or as much of the natural tooth whenever possible. A root canal allows you to keep the tooth.
Yes, You can have the tooth extracted and have an implant. This is a good option and one that is done often.
No, that is a myth. It comes from Weston Price who ran poorly conducted experiments. He believed that toxins in a root canal cause cancer, heart disease, and arthritis. Modern dentistry has proven Price wrong on all accounts.

A full denture, also known as a conventional denture, is placed in your mouth after the remaining teeth have been removed and your gums have healed. Healing may take several months and during this time, you will have no teeth.
Yes. We can take measurements and do models of your jaw then we can give you what’s known as an immediate full denture, which is inserted as soon as the teeth are removed. Due to bone growth and change post healing, these need to be realigned once the healing is complete.
No. You can have a partial denture that is on a metal frame and is anchored to existing teeth.
Over time, you will need to have your dentures remade, realigned or perhaps rebased. This is due to normal wear and because the jaw changes as we age.
