Overview

Dental Implants

A titanium post is surgically implanted into the jaw just below the gum line. This allows the dentist to mount replacement teeth or a bridge without having to anchor it to the teeth on either side. The implant will actually fuse with the jawbone so that artificial teeth, dentures or bridges mounted on the implant will remain stable. You will need healthy gums and adequate bone to support an implant. If the bone is too soft or thin, you may require a bone graft.

Single Tooth Replacement

What is it?

If you are missing a single tooth an implant and a customized crown can fix the problem. A titanium screw is surgically implanted into the jaw bone, this acts as a permanent replacement for the missing root. Onto the implant, we then can add a crown that has been customized to fit exactly the look of your other teeth in shape and color. Once the implant and crown are in you can be sure they are solid and secure. You can smile again.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Anyone who is missing a single tooth or has a decayed tooth is certainly a candidate for this procedure. Other factors include having healthy gums free of periodontal disease, being old enough that the jaw has stopped growing and you should also have enough bone to support and anchor the implant. If you don’t have enough bone, a graft can be done or, an implant might be recommended to prevent further bone loss. Smoking or alcoholism are risk factors for an adverse outcome.

Single Tooth Replacement

Advanced technology usually allows us to give you a single implant and a temporary crown in one day. When you leave the office the permanent crown is crafted to fit your smile and tooth color perfectly and it’s fitted later.

A good implant will last more than 25 years, remain stable, solid and allow you to chew and smile like a natural tooth.
Once the implant is in there is no reason to remove it. You can clean, brush and floss it the way you would with your natural teeth.
An implant can stimulate bone growth in the area of the implant making the bone of the jaw stronger than it was before the implant.
There is surgery involved and how much there will be and how long it will take depends on the type of implant you’re having and the condition of the jaw bone.

What is it?

Four titanium screws, replacing the roots, are put in the jaw where they have the capacity to support a full arch of teeth. This can be done on the upper or lower jaw.

If you’re missing all or most of your teeth, you may be a candidate. If you have enough bone to support the implants, are free of gum disease this could be your answer.

Instead of a single implant for each tooth, four screws are surgically put into the jaw, onto them we place a full arch of new teeth, replacing all the teeth at once.

Our Advanced Technology

All-on-4

Our advanced technology allows four implants to replace all the teeth on the top or bottom. Because we use titanium, the implants have the ability to fuse to the bone, becoming part of the jaw for lasting strength.

Implants are placed deep in the bone so they won’t shift and titanium allows the implants to fuse with the bone.
As opposed to implanting a screw for each individual tooth this procedure does four at once and no other surgery is required for an entire arch of teeth.
Using only four titanium implants, your entire smile is restored with new luster and shine, giving you back your confidence and self-esteem.
To have this procedure you do have to have enough strong bone to support the four implants or else they cannot be secured to the jaw.

Permanent Teeth

What is it?

Permanent teeth are teeth applied to an implant that has been screwed into the jaw. The implant is titanium so it eventually fuses with the bone. They are stable, strong and function the same as the natural teeth, matching the arch in color and shape and last for a long time. They cannot be removed except by a dentist so, unlike dentures or bridges, they do not come out to be cleaned. They are brushed and flossed the same as your natural teeth.

Do you need it?

If you have a missing tooth or a deteriorating tooth that is causing you to be self-conscious about your smile or is causing pain when you chew, then a permanent tooth is a good option for you. An implant replaces the old tooth and the root giving you a stronger artificial tooth that looks and functions exactly like a natural tooth, except lasting longer. If you have enough bone in your jaw to support the implant then permanent teeth could be the answer.

Permanent Teeth

Because of our advanced technology we are able to replace a broken or missing tooth using simple surgery with a solid, stable, permanent tooth from the root up. The new tooth will last, look and function beautifully.

Unlike dentures or a bridge, the permanent tooth is fused with the bone of the jaw so it remains secure and stable, allowing for natural chewing and daily activities.
Beyond the cosmetic many people with tooth loss experience trouble with speech. A permanent tooth can solve that problem.
Often with tooth loss, there is a weakening of the bone surrounding the tooth and the jaw. An implant can actually strengthen the bone and reverse some of the bone loss.
Although it is worth it, the procedure does take time. It does require multiple office visits for the entire process to be completed as well as the time between for the bone to heal.

Metal-Free Implants

What is it?

People with metal allergies may find Zirconium Dioxide, “ceramic” implants, are an ideal alternative. Ceramic implants fuse to the bone and give the same stability and strength to the implant as titanium does.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Anyone with a missing or broken tooth is a good implant candidate. If you have metal allergies or have experienced trouble with metal implants in the past, ceramic implants are perfect for you.

HOW IS IT DONE?

The non-metal implant process is the same as titanium only the materials are different. There is a short, simple surgery to implant the ceramic base then a crown is placed on top.

Metal-Free Implants

We have been able to create a non-metal implant for those who have allergies to titanium but need to have a permanent tooth put in. This material promotes bone growth and lasts a long time and looks beautiful.

The major plus of non-metal implants is not having to worry about allergic reactions and all the problems that can come from those.
The color of ceramic implants is closer to the color of your natural teeth. Where titanium is grey, ceramic implants are white and have a more natural look.
Some implants need to heal under the gums for 3-6 months for stability, this is called osseointegration. Ceramic implants cannot heal under the gum due to their one-piece design. Therefore implanting them must be precise.
Implants have two ways of securing the crown, screwed or cemented. Because of the one-piece design of ceramic implants, they cannot be screwed and the crown has to be cemented on.

Bone Grafting

What is it?

When there is not enough bone in the jaw or the bone present isn’t strong enough to support an implant, a bone graft may be necessary. We use bone grafting material, naturally occurring and biocompatible, which is then grafted to the jawbone. Time is needed for the graft to create new, strong bone to support the implant. This can take several months. However, if there is only a small graft needed, this can be done at the same time as the implant surgery.

Do you need it?

Jawbone loss or recession can result in a sunken look to your face and it can contribute to tooth loss. If you have bone loss and you need a dental implant, a bone graft is usually necessary. Soft or weak bone density can also be cause for a bone graft. An implant needs strong bone in order for it to be strong and remain stable. An implant can stimulate bone growth, however, there has to be enough bone for the implant to take.

Bone Grafting

With advances, we now have biocompatible grafting materials that can help strengthen the current bone and make an implant possible. Healing time can be reduced and bone growth can be stimulated. The implant is more secure and long-lasting.

This is a synthetic material that is readily available and cheaper than some alternatives. There is also less risk of donor-specific infection.
These are bone grafts that come from your own body. They are considered the “gold standard” of grafts. They have a high content of resident growth factors which make them ideal.
These are bone grafts similar to autografts as they are human in origin but usually come from a cadaver or a bone bank. Some worry about disease but a tight screening process and advancements in processing technology make disease virtually unseen in the U.S.
These are bones taken from another species, usually of the bovine variety. The organic portion has been completely removed so there is zero chance of contracting BSE, Mad Cow Disease.

Sinus Lift

What is it?

This surgery adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of the premolar and molars. In the area between the jaw and the maxillary sinuses, the spaces on either side of the nose.

WHY IS IT DONE?

A sinus lift is done when there is not enough bone height in the upper jaw or when the sinuses are too close to the jaw preventing an implant from having purchase.

Do you need it?

You may if you’ve had tooth loss it can lead to bone loss as well. If you’re having implants you will need sufficient strong bone for implants to be secure and stable.

Sinus Lift

A sinus lift allows for bone material to be placed beneath the sinus cavity so that implants can be safely and securely placed and last for years to come. With advancements, most patients experience little discomfort during the procedure.

With a sinus lift, if your current bone is weak or lacking, adding bone material to the sinus area, you have more chances for your implants to be successful.
A sinus lift can assist your body’s natural rehabilitation process in delicate areas by restoring lost bone with natural bone.
A sinus lift is a very common procedure and it’s fairly routine when done by experts. Post-surgery you should not notice any changes to your sinus, allergies or your breathing.
There are many reasons for bone loss, cancer treatment, gum disease, smoking or heavy drinking can aid in the loss of bone. A sinus lift can repair and reverse this damage.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin

What is it?

PRF is a process where your blood is drawn and centrifuged to concentrate all the natural healing molecules into a clot which can then be used by itself for mixed into grafting. Using PRF can accelerate how quickly a surgical site may heal by providing the necessary signaling molecules the body needs to stimulate its normal remodeling and repair processes. This causes soft tissue to fill faster and, bone remodeling and growth to occur more efficiently. Some call it the silver bullet of grafting.

WHY IS IT GOOD?

PRF is an excellent addition to any oral surgery procedure: wisdom teeth extractions, implants, bone grafts, sinus lifts, and even delicate gum grafts. PRF is a product of you, it cannot be manufactured and what you produce can only be used by you. There is never a potential for body rejection or allergic reaction when using PRF because there are no foreign bodies involved.
